I was kinda surprised when I got the box to see how small it was. But as they say done let the appearance full you. These speakers will surprise you when you consider the price. I sat in front of the computer for the better part of the day listening to just about everything in my music arsenal and have been pleasantly surprised. Everything from Movie orchestral sound tracks though to Metallica and it has handled it rather well. Although the sub is small and the system is rated at a tiny 30watts it has plenty punch for a small room and will easily make your ears heart if you turn it up loud enough. After balancing out the sub level with mid highs I got a sound out of them that I will enjoy listening to no matter what task I will be doing. I did find that there was a bit of a peak at 125Hz from the sub but once I had pulled that back a bit with the EQ in the audio drivers it balanced out the sound even more. You do need to be wary of placement not to place them to close to the wall. The Mid highs do have a rear firing driver to give you a 360° feel, But I found that if it is too close to the wall you get a lot of slap back which tends to give you a bit of a hollow sound which a few of the other reviewers refer to. They don’t need to come forward far (maybe 100mm or so). All in all I am very impressed and will no doubt be using them for some time yet. Great Bang for the buck.

Great little speakers for there money, oviously not the best performing speakers as they are only 30W rms however compared to most other small sound systems with similar wattage they are exelent, i managed to shake a window or too using them through my laptop (after about 5mins of playing with equalisers). good volume no distortion through the actual speakers but would have been better is acompanied by a 6" sub intead of a 4"

I bought these speakers at Target because I was tired of listening to the radio over the computer's speakers. I love 'em. Rich sound, easy to set up. Only downside is no remote but other than that I love this product.

I bought these online a few weeks ago and so far, they are working great. Bass is surprisingly responsive for its small size as are the speakers. When I first turned them on I literally turned around because it sounded like the music was coming from multiple directions! (They don't lie about the 360 effect). After a while of course, I became accustomed and able to identify the location of the speakers although they sound just as beautiful on the opposite side of the room as they do 2 feet away.
I am a passionate metalhead, ranging my variety of music from the most popular rock songs to melodic death metal, and I am surprised that the bass is able to keep up with the double pedal blast beats that are prevalent in the extreme subgenres of metal. It also handles other genres of music quite well, especially techno, trance and electronica, which I will be using quite a lot hosting some small dorm parties ;)
Only thing I find bad about the speakers is that even though they're powerful, they still give a feeble vibe; I am still nervous about cranking up the volume beyond the halfway point in fear that they will implode. Beyond all of this, they are amazing speakers and I am most definitely pleased with my purchase. It's also my first Logitech purchase so, Congratulations Logitech! You have a new customer. :)

I bought these because I've never gone wrong with a Logitech purchsase, and this time is no different.
For $70 they are an incredible bargain. They sound great and are small enough to hide behind the other stuff on the desk without taking up too much space.
Don't know what else I could ask for in a small PC speaker system.

While dorm shopping, I happening to glance over in the electronics section of a near by target. After playing around with some of the speakers, I stumbled upon these bad boys. They had a small "Test Me" button on them so by initiating the demo I was transformed by the sound quality... That is to say the sound quality of the random song being played. (Not Much Bass) Later I figured out why.. While I was crankin dat or Partying like a Rockstar, I noticed that the bass was not performing very well at all.. First off you couldn't feel that amazing vibration you get from quality systems and second the bass was being distorted to the point of Rattling! Everyone has heard it, where the bass can hit a few chosen notes and the wrest are a rattled mess..
Overall, the system is very attractive and cosmetically pleasing but the bass just didn't cut it for me.. I am sticking with logitech and upgrading to the Z523 Model where hopefully the 40 watt will be a bit more pleasing than the 30.
I would recommend logitech, but not this speaker system, do yourself a favor and spend a few extra bucks and purchase the Logitech Z523 where the speakers actually have a protective mesh covering! (Unlike the Z323)
Thanks

These are some really great speakers for the price. The sub packs quite a punch for the size and 30 watts is exceptional. It's advertised for use with televisions but its not really that immerse. My only problem is the missing volume control "pad" which was included with the 25 watt version.

I have these set up with the smaller speakers on a shelf above the PC and the subwoofer tucked behind the monitor. Like this it offers a warm and friendly yet clear sound that is flexible enough to cope with music between 18th and 21st century with no problem. Likewise with DVD playback and PC games.
Will never compete with a dedicated hifi system but for sticking in the back of a PC does the job well enough at a reasonable price.
There is a certain amount of leeway with speaker positioning but I think the two smaller speakers could be a little less tall and thin.

I use this for a first time self assembled pc that has built in HD sound. At first I was looking to purchase a $7 to 12 dollar pair of speakers. When I saw this I figured it would be worth a try since I didn't have speakers (well monitor speakers, but the audio got lost when I switched from dvi- to an HDMI adapter).
I ordered these from an online store came to my house with in 2 days. I hooked them up and was so happy that I no longer had to use speakers that had to carry the bass while playing the music making it quite hard to understand while listening.
If you're wondering about gaming? YES OH YES they play the in game music and sound beautifully. Especially if your motherboard is capable of on board HD sound. As for a comment about hollow sound, you will need to go into your speaker section of your operating system and un check speaker fill.
I plugged my MP3 player to the MP3 player audio jack and the sound plays just the way your MP3 can play it. And MP4 for those of you who owns one.

I use it for my new flatscreen tv since that thing sounds like a tin can. I understand that they don't spend much attention for tv speakers because most of us seem to need dolby surround. Not me. I need a tight 2 channel, easy to fit set that delivers a punch that my tv doesn't have. Thanks to the RCA and 3.5 jack inputs, I can't resist to plug in in my laptop too!

My new laptop has the worse internal speakers I have ever heard. When I contacted the manufacturer, they agreed! The customer service representative suggested I purchase add-on speakers. I started looking on the WEB to see what was rated best and then surveyed the ads of local electronics retailers for price and availability, ending up buying the Z323 speaker system. The ease of installation was phenomenal. I did not have to be a techi to install or operate. Sytem worked awesomely right out of the box, following the easy-to-install instructions. I have had Logitech products before and would purchase Logitech in the future. Thanks for a great pair of speakers for a great price!

I've owned many logitech products, including 2.0 speakers and I've owned Philips 2.1 speakers (at 1/2 the cost of these) and a Bose Wave Radio.
In comparison, the Z323 is a nice simple sound system to hook up to your laptop or computer and it plays good sound. Nothing spectacular and unless you turn the bass down very low it's too much and you can't hear the actual music.
One thing the bass IS GREAT for is playing one of those CD soundtracks or iPod apps with thunder and rain...great to sleep to.
I do recommend these speakers compared to the other products I've seen on the market. I'm a fan of Logitech products because I know with good care they'll last. I can't say that for the rest of the manufacturers. They may not be the best, but they are okay for the price.

these are okay, but I wouldn't say they are good. The bass sounds too hollow and causes some distortion when you turn up the bass and the volume level high. I say the logitech-z5500 owns them all.

Well, i work at Bose speaker company, and even though those are $400+ i have never heard the same sound from these Logitech Z323s. The sound is amazing, and if you get the bass right, it can really make songs you've hated sound good, or even give new life to old songs. Great for gaming. Just turn up the bass a bit. I use these for my PS3, computer, and Ipod. (pretty much whatever I can) Best speakers under $150, by far.

My very first impression was that these speakers are awesome. the bass is very mcu of an 'in your face' quality. It is very present, and therefore I turned it down somewhat. After that the sound was very good.
there is however one thing that bothers me. the little speakers also have a speaker in the back, which is ok I guess, but a bit unnecesary for me. That being said, after just a day of use, the backside speaker of the right speaker really hums in an annoying way. If I hold the conus the sound is gone, but if I let go I hear this scratching that is not supposed to be there.
I will go and claim my warranty because my speakers are definitely broken. I will get new ones though so I am satisfied otherwise. A solid product, good bang for the buck - if they work properly.

I bought these speakers to replace my broken alt Lansing's. I have to say i am really impressed with the sound. Each speaker has a built in sound hole so the bass is amazing. Also the speakers have some weight to them unlike most speakers the same size, which I like. One thing that makes a difference is my sound card which is a vitality pro so I have complete control over my sound. I do have to say I had to tweak my eq a bit because of the bass. Overall these are really good speakers for any one looking to upgrade. A++
