The logitech MK605 is an amazing keyboard and mouse combo with a sturdy riser, which combines for a compact, lightweight and efficient way to enhance the use of your laptop. The packaging of the MK605 are very minimal, everything is stored and protected without excessive amounts of plastic or foam to protect it all. After removing it from the packaging and removing the battery inserts, some space cleared on my table, i grabbed my laptop and went to work setting it up.
The first thing that amazes me about the MK605 is the unify receiver, in the fact it is so tiny! Being about the size of my thumbnail, it fits neatly into the back usb port of my laptop without sticking out, preventing it from being knocked or damaged. It is so small, I can leave it in the usb port when its in my laptop bag, without worrying about it being damaged, and if i did want to remove it, I'd never have to worry about losing it. Both the keyboard and mouse have an inbuilt slot for the unify receiver to be stored in. I've had 2 previous generations of wireless keyboard and mouse from logitech, and the unify is just an amazing standout feature of this MK605 package for me.
Its really simple to get started, after plugging in the unify receiver, windows automatically recognized the keyboard and mouse, and instantly had me up and running without any software or drivers required. Set-point is available to download, but not included on a CD. Personally I think this is a good thing, as it reduces the amount of waste. Most of the time software is out of date the second its packaged, so having to download Set-point ensures you get the most recent version, and not having another useless waste of a driver CD to add to the collection. Set-point is as easy to setup as it is to download.
So firstly the Riser. I never really saw what the point of a riser was, but after using it, i now know. No back pain! The riser tilts the laptop to raise the screen higher, meaning a much more ergonomic position when using your laptop. Having 3 settings, 20, 30 and 40 degrees, its suited to most peoples heights. I'm quite tall, and 40 degrees is a perfect height, not having to slouch to read the screen. If you are going to be using your laptop for long periods, the Riser is a must. It has 2 strong rubber coated tabs at the base to hold your computer in place, as well as a rubber coated pivoting foot at the rear, ensuring the riser does not move around the desk. Even bumping the desk hard, it stays in place. At the rear of the riser is a cable rail to keep all your cables organized and tidy. Overall its Very thin and light, and it fits in my laptop bag neatly, so transporting it is easy. I was very impressed with the riser, and couldn't believe I've been using a laptop for all these years without one.
The keyboard is nice and sturdy as well. It has a smooth finish and large solid keys. Most wireless keyboards I've used are either thick and clunky, or thin and flimsy. This one is a good compromise of style and construction. The keyboard itself is about 16 inches long, which is a few inches larger than the width of my laptop, and it only just fits in my laptop bag. It has an on/off switch located at the top right side above the number pad, which is great for conserving battery life. About the only 2 things i can fault with the keyboard is there are no retractable feet, and the arrow keys feel rather cramped, its very easy to hit the wrong key as they are only half the size of the rest of the keys. The range of the keyboard is fantastic, great if you are using your laptop with a projector, you don't need to be sitting on top of the receiver for it to work effectively, it works perfectly from across the room
Last but not least, the mouse. I like a nice solid heavy mouse, and generally wireless mice tend to be light and flimsy. This one is fantastic. Small but solid, it fits nicely into the palm of your hand and is comfortable to hold. Being a laser mouse, its extremely accurate and responsive. Not a great deal of extra features, but it doesn't need them for a laptop mouse. Using the set-point software, you can swap the buttons and program the scroll wheel to perform other functions. The battery life logitech claims is what impresses me the most. No longer having to change the batteries once a month (usually when in the middle of something important) is a huge selling point for me.
So, take the K340 keyboard, the M505 mouse and the N110 riser, and you have an amazing little package, the MK605 Notebook kit. Whether you are on the go, or use your laptop as a desktop, the MK605 is the ultimate way to make using your notebook easier, and more ergonomic. Once you try it, You'll wonder how you got by without it.
Pros : Lightweight. Easy to use. Good quality materials. Ergonomic positioning of laptop screen. Extraordinary battery life. Cons : No keyboard feet. Arrow keys are too small. Biggest con is now i have to give it back, as im only testing it :(

Notebook Kit MK605
Date:15 February 2011
I received the MK605 kit a few days ago and was so excited that I opened and set it up straight away. Very easy process to set up, even a simple novice could do it with no problem!
I love the fact that the keyboard and mouse are wireless, and that the kit contains a riser, as all these allowed me to sit comfortably at my desk in whichever way I wanted - no more hunching over to see the screen properly at eye level, and no more having the screen close to me solely for the use of the laptop keyboard! This kit makes the laptop ergonomically fantastic!
The quality of the items is perfect, as I would have expected from a company such as Logitech. There was no issue there whatsoever.
I would fully recommend this product to anyone and everyone!

Got my MK605 today and was very excited to try it. It makes it so much easier to use my notebook...
i do not need to slouch down, the slanted elevation makes it much easier to see - it is at eye level;
the keyboard makes it a much better unit as i find the original notebook keyboard gets stuck and having a mouse too is bliss. It all makes my notebook seem like a desk top, but with the comfort and potable ease.
great all round product

MK605 Notebook Kit.. LPT 10263 Bundaberg QLD
I for one am one of these people who prefere to just open what I have brought or recieved and use without looking at instructions,(unless it is very complicated and you have to read instructions). With the MK506 you can do just that, I'm very impressed with that.
The packaging is easy to open and shouldn't be an issue with older or impaired people.
On opening, everything is stored neatly and instructions (if you need them) are very easy to follow.
I have never used a laptop riaser before and the MK506 is great. Where my laptop is, it is on a small width bench and was very cramped. now using the MK506 for the last 24 hrs I have noticed a remarkable difference. Not so cramped, i've also noticed my wrists hav'nt been getting sore, since im not trying to miss touching my very sensitive touch pad on laptop.
The K340 keyboard would have to one the nicest feeling keyboards I have ever used. It is not to big or to small. Everything is easy to access and use on it. I'm glad Logitech went with the full size number pad, nothing worse than using a keyboard with this missing. I'm very impressed how when you pack the MK506 up you can store the K340 keyboard between the leg and base.
Setting up the N110 raiser only took about 20 seconds and was very simple. With 3 different angle settings, they all feel good and the laptop sits on it nicely and feels very stirdy. I tried shaking the bench to see if i could get the laptop to fall off at each of the settings. didnt even look like falling off. I like the fact that the locking catch isnt all plastic. there is 2 little metal tags in the locking catch that work very well. the 2 little legs that hold the laptop on the raiser feel and look very sturdy. I like the cable organiser (ill have to admit I wasnt sure what that was , so i looked at instructions).
Now for the M505 mouse, I have used several different brands of cordless mice and the M505 is just WOW. It is the nicest fitting mouse I have ever used, and everything is so easy and simple to use on it.The feel of this mouse is unbelievable and very comfortable. I have tried using the M505 mouse on alot of different surfaces, Waterbed bladder, towel, my shorts, laminated bench, carpet, even the wall. (trying to think what my grandson would do) all worked great and very smooth. I'm impressed
Putting the batteries in the M505 mouse and the K340 keyboard is very simple to do and very easy access. I especially like the fact you can turn on and off the mouse and keyboard.
I for one am very impressed with the MK605 notebook kit. and would highly recommend it. It's very neat and compact for easy pack up and traveling.
another great Logitech product.

mk605 kit
Date:13 February 2011
upon opening the package you see that you have a straight forward setup process ahead of you as all parts are neatly stored and the setup instructions laid out neatly in step by step numbered process. the battery installation was clearly labelled unlike some products which turn this process into a hit or miss guessing game.
some laptop riser promise a lot but are flimsy and cannot hold the wieght of a laptop, after setting up my old heavywieght laptop up on the mk605, it is a pleasure to see the non slip foot at the back of it which helps balance the whole thing out nicely.
the keyboard is a small light wieght unit and slimline as well which makes it very easy to place in front of the upright laptop without being in the road of the thing. the keys are also of a good feel, unlike some keyboards that you have to bash due to sticky keys.
the mouse is the finishing touch in my opinion, the m505 mouse has a dreat feel with the rubber grips and unifying reciever which allows for the addition of numberpads, or logitech presentation units.
what impresses me the most is the ergonomics of the unit, it allows for a straight back when using it unlike using a pc and screen that may not be directly in front of you therefore causing bad back posture.
it is ideal for anyone using there laptop as there main computer as it cuts the clutter and need for a second monitor, and therefore more cables.
being neat and compact in size, it is not to large to carry with your laptop as an on the go desktop pc.

straight out of the box using the easy set up guide which can be found in all logitech products, got me up and running in minutes.
best feature is the ergonimic design on the laptop riser, ive had to use my laptop with a moniter and the crick in my neck from not having a screen in front of you was painful.
the mouse and keybord design are great, compact keyboard and mouse whose value alone are more than the mk605 kit all together.
almost want to update my laptop so i can use it and get rid of the clutter on my desk.

Fantastic Docking Solution
Date:9 February 2011
MK605 Review The MK605 Notebook kit is a great all round docking station solution that can be used to turn a portable laptop into a desktop PC solution.
The MK605 is packaged nicely and the box clearly describes the benefits and features of the product. Unlike many other notebook docking stations that are available the MK605 includes both a wireless mouse and keyboard to create the ultimate solution. Unpacking was straightforward and upon opening the product was revealed.
The product was very easy to set up. The batteries were already installed inside the keyboard and it was very easy to install the batteries into the mouse. The tiny USB receiver (which works both with the mouse and keyboard) is a fantastic solution to free up USB ports. As the USB receiver is so small, it is possible just to leave the receiver plugged in and forget about it. In the case though that you do want to remove the USB receiver, Logitech has cleverly designed a storage space next to the battery holder on the keyboard for you to safely stow the receiver when not in use.
The laptop stand has a simple mechanism to allow the user to change the angle at which the laptop is seated. The laptop can sit at 20, 30 or 40 degrees and is surprisingly sturdy when seated. The best thing about this laptop stand is that it that it swivels thus allowing the user to move the laptop to show others what is being displayed on the screen (or hide what is being displayed!). The colour of the stand (yellow and black) matches both the colour scheme of the keyboard and mouse.
The keyboard and mouse are pretty standard devices. The mouse is your standard ‘notebook mouse’ and very similar to other Logitech offerings. They keyboard is very easy to use and I have grown to like it more and more over time. I currently use a Mac and have found, despite this being a Windows keyboard, very easy to use with my computer.
The MK605 is a great product, which allows a portable computer to be turned into a desktop computer. It makes a great docking station solution for any home or office where one would like the benefit of a desktop with the portability of a laptop. The stand frees up valuable desk space and the wireless keyboard and mouse allow for a customised workstation.
The only problem is that I may need more than 1! I can see the benefit in having one in the study and office allowing me to quickly ‘dock in’ with minimal fuss.

How did I live without this????

So easy My Child can use it.
My first ever blog, Hi, I am a very happy Logitech Product Tester. I received the MK605 Notebook kit about 1 week ago.
This is an amazing product. It allows me to use my laptop in a much more functional way.
The A frame stand allows the screen to be viewed at a better angle and height for comfort to my neck and back. I can use it in the kitchen, creating a comfortable viewing angle when cooking, e.g. following a recipe, In the lounge when I connect the laptop to the TV and HTS. I can now sit further away from the TV to control the action instead of being limited to the length of the HDMI cable.
My Husband has found it invaluable as due to a medical condition, finds it uncomfortable to sit at length at the desktop. Now he can have his feet up on the lounge while controlling the laptop and viewing at a comfortable height from the coffee table. We are certainly using the laptop more these days. Thanks Logitech. You know, I never realized just how many logitech products we own, but I am noticing your logo everywhere in our home. I hope you have found my review helpful. I forgot to mention the function key on the keyboard that allows you to open such applications as email, the calculator, Media Player, Volume etc, This makes the laptop keyboard absolutely redundant. Having had plenty of time to use the MK605 Notebook kit with wireless keyboard and mouse, i have to really wonder how i ever did without this. The laptop has now become a permanent fixture in my kitchen for both my use, recipes, facebook, checking share prices and the kids at the breakfast bar playing games while I am busy in the kitchen or generally being close enough to keep an eye on them while they are not in danger. Thank you Logitech for giving me the opportunity to discover something I may not have known that I couldn't do without. This is what I posted on the Share Your Thoughts page as I did not see this page, der. Oh well, it's here now. :)

Product Tester Review- MK605 combo
Date:28 December 2010
Review of Logitech MK605 Wireless keyboard, mouse stand combo
First Impressions
Packaging displays clear images of contents and descriptions of contents applications.
Out of the box
Contents: Keyboard has a lush piano gloss finish, is very light, keys soft touch and very responsive. Has a separate keypad for easy math and overall is full size, less cramping equals less corrections later and more comfortable to use.
Mouse is a laser wireless , light and accurate. Has a precise cursor action.
Keyboard riser, read laptop stand. Was initially a little concerned at placing my $2000 laptop on an angle with a piece of plastic. Feels surprisingly very stable and raises through gradations the screen to the optimum height and angle to suit the user.
What brings the unit to life and makes it so easy to use is a unifying receiver that slips into a USB port and stays there even when travelling. Simply go online, download and install and there you are, no cables, no more setting up.
The whole lot can be easily fitted into the other side of most laptop bags and you have an instant set up, go anywhere, office in a bag.
Really nice touches
Real batteries- Gold Duracell batteries pre installed in keyboard, supplied for mouse, not got to buy them or have to replace the one’s provided. Under normal use you will have 3 years before you need to replace keyboard batteries as both it and the mouse sense not being used and go to sleep after a few minutes of inactivity.
Also the whole product comes with a limited 3 year hardware warranty.
I would like to thank Logitech for providing me with this product as a tester and look forward to many years of use.
Best features ever
Not having to remove the unifying USB device, it does not stick out and get in the way like most full size versions, not having to remember to switch off keyboard or mouse, portability with stability

An unbeatable accessory
Date:20 December 2010
I'd keenly awaited the arrival of my MK605. After the kids went to bed I reclaimed a laptop from my husband and set it up in front of the telly to do some important business work (okay I played Plants vs Zombies). I'd been a little worried about it fitting on the stand as my work laptops are a little bulky and primitive - ie an abacus instead of a calculator function. But it was sturdy and I had no concerns on that front. I really liked the swivel feature, that would be especially handy when setting up the laptop as a replacement desktop. I did manage to pinch my fingers when adjusting it quite a bit, but that is probably just me being unco. I usually get a bit of neck strain when using my laptop and the stand was great to avoid this.
This is my first experience of a wireless keyboard. I found this one easy and comfortable to use. I really miss the number pad at the right on a standard laptop keyboard, so it was nice to have this back.
One real highlight for me is the usb receiver. I like how tiny it is, I completely forgot it was there when packing the laptop away. I'd much rather have something I can leave in at all times to avoid losing it. I also like having one receiver. Did you ever wonder who buys all those usb gadgets (hand warmer, fan etc) - that'd be my husband. (I do like the fan in a shape of a bee though - a USBee, get it?!) But usb space is valuable to me, so I like that I don't need to duplicate receivers.
The mouse is great, although I will need to adjust the settings to make it slightly less sensitive. It is exactly the right weight and shape though - it feels almost like a static cling to the mousepad. Perfect.

Ergonomic excellence!

Wireless keyboard and mouse works a treat with the 'plug and forget' Unifying Receiver. Didn't really like the 'top loading' battery compartment for the wireless mouse. One/off switches on the keyboard and mouse are a good idea for extended periods of non-use. The Notebook Riser works has done wonders for my sore neck and shoulders - should have done this sooner. Maybe 1-2 more angles/steps in the riser adjustment would offer more flexibility and usability.

This works great. Quality keyboard and mouse and the stand is simple and portable and works well with the 3 different options for angles. I was not sure that this would work for my laptop b/c it is 17.3" (Dell Inspiron), but it works perfectly! So if you have a similar laptop do not be scared off by the "supports laptops up to 15.6" " My neck and upper back are grateful!

Perfect for people with neck and back pains
Date:1 September 2010
I just recently switched from a Desktop to a Laptop, and the transition was not easy. There are pros and cons to using both a desktop and using a laptop (I wont go into that), but my biggest problem was neck and back pains. I am partially disable and as hard headed as I am I refuse to take any pain meds, so when I use my laptop my neck and back are in an awkward position with my shoulders raised almost touching my chin causing more pains and muscle tensions, almost making it impossible to look down into my laptop and type. When I saw this product I thought it was too good to be true, I just had to get it and ordered immediatly!!!! So when my order arrived I opened the package and inspected every item- complete package with the stand, keyboard, mouse, batteries, instruction booklet (download software via logitech website). Very easy to assemble just pop in the batteries, set the stand to the level you want (20, 30, 40 degrees), download the 'setpoint software' (to reconfigure keyboard's F-key) and almost in an instant LAPTOP COMFORT!!! I highly recommend this product for people who suffer from neck and back pain and who are looking for something lightweight and easy to assemble. If your into wireless this is the way to go.....cords and wires are SOooooo last century...Time for a perfect switch!
I enjoy using the keyboard functional keys(not too large but enough to type comfortably rather than bunching your wrist together almost typing like a dinosaur when typing on the laptop keyboard. The mouse is sleek and stylish (not having to worry about accidental clicks as that on a laptop pad and the easy to assemble just click and set your notebook on the stand...Makes working, web surfing, picture viewing, and more comfortable and wireless!!!!

Nice design, truly "cordless" laptop stand
Date:5 April 2010
This 3-piece set contains everything to turn your notebook into a functional desktop equivalent. The fold-out stand is sturdier than it looks and it adjusts to several angles (you'll probably keep it at full tilt though). A nifty feature of the stand is the "glider" feet that allows you to swivel the notebook if you need to show someone something.
The best part of this kit is the tiny transmitter that controls both the keyboard and mouse. It's so small that you can actually keep it plugged into a USB port without fear of snapping it off. Both the keyboard and mouse have "Off" switches, to help allay your fears of your batteries being drained while not in use.
Things I didn't like as much: the keyboard is not full size, so the key layout and size is not as good as the bigger keyboards. And the keyboard is in Darth Vader glossy black--looks cool, but shows, fingerprints, scuffs, and DUST very easily. Also, the Logitech SetPoint software seems to fight with the native mouse driver in Windows.

Great product

The MK605 kit has all the charateristics we expect for this kind of product. There's a soft good looking keyboard, an accurate mouse and a versatile stand.
I suppose it is the successor of the Logitech Alto kit, + a laser mouse.
I have both of them, and I really enjoy the new one. The usb hub in less, I forgot it when I installed the more ajustable stand.
