This is my third Logitech remote (all different models) and I love their ease of use, set up and compatibility with all my electronic components . I notice that my display is noticeability different to that on your display. I would best describe my display as similar to a 1st generation colour mobile phone. Is this actually how it is or does my remote need looking at? Thanks for great products Logitech that work exactly as they should and inspire confidence.
As a 70 year old who's been playing with hi-fi equipment for just about 50 years you'd think I'd have owned a number of universal remotes by now, but the Harmony 650 is my first and it has amazed me with it's simplicity and power. The initial on-line set up was a breeze and having it talk to my original remotes for any additional commands could easily have been done by my young grandchildren. At this point it could control pretty much every activity possible with my system with one or two taps of a button, but the fun was just beginning. Customizing the buttons for special commands and groups of commands and setting up separate more sophisticated commands for individual components became a wonderful obsession. I love this thing and I'm still plumbing the depths of it's possibilities. Oh, and my wife can now operate everything - no problem. Can life get any better?

Great Value For Money

The setup was sooooo easy, it worked on all of five of my devices with minimal/standard configuration. Tailoring of the options for Activities, Devices and buttons was child's play. For a device costing less than $50 (got it cheap in a Christmas special) it is one of the best toys/value for money I have purchased - and I have lots of toys. My wife who is definately NOT tech-savvy finds it easy to use and being able to retire the five remote controls helps keep the lounge tidy. Well done Logitech.

From Trepidation to Convert

I had a month of technological merde and flirted in the store with the enticing bubble-wrapped source of salvation like a coy, blushing wallflower. The store consultants couldn't tell for sure (read prevaricate) that the Harmony 650 would deal with Telstra T-box. Mulled, on- line researched, and still didn't get equivocal info. Plunged. For $45 bucks a fair punt. Lo and behold, I followed all instructions from the website (use explorer, crome, though my standard is the fox) and clicked in my LCD TV, DVD, T-box, and Apple TV with nary a glitch. Surely it cant be that easy? Yep. Don't expect one button ease; you need to think a little. 5 star and for the cost, a Spinal Tap 11.

not what i thought

i bought this as i was going to hospital soon and wanted a one botton operation for my wife to use after a lot of phone calls from the Australian support number we got it working partly had trouble regonzing av reciver tried everything and at time software would not let me input the devices unless i opened an closed program a few times as mentioned earlier finally got everything going ok but then whilst using remote it would somtimes not do as it should eg pressing favorites button especially for Foxtel you would only see 2 numbers come up and i had input the correct channels number and it would not change correctly to commands eg from "Foxtel" to watch "TV" or "DVD" not happy feel like i wasted my money not sure if i will ever get another Logitech remote

Before purchase I checked if the 650 was compatible with my TV, 2 PVRs, DVD & PC. All but the PC were OK Harmony's site said. Turns out it had no record of my 1 year old Panasonic TV = FALSE CLAIM...I would not have bought it knowing this.
After the lengthy set up the remote always took 5 attempts to select the correct TV input for the chosen activity. After 3 calls I was told the only fix was to contact Canada for an 'adjustment' to the settings = AN OVERNIGHT WAIT...
I had to change an input for one of the devices. Bad move. All the 'adjustments' were lost. Back to Canada...
Two days after the 'fix' & it has again become unusable.
Try to watch one of the PVRs on the TV, (an activity), and both PVRs turn on while the TV remains off. Try the 'All Off' button when both PVRs and the TV are running and either one of the PVRs won't turn off.
Where is the zero star rating option?
I will be returning it today. If you want a harmonious viewing experience DON'T BUY A HARMONY REMOTE!!!

Best Thing Since Sliced Bread

I purchased this on the good words of the shop assistant as I have owned other " multi remotes " & although they work there is alot of fiddling. This Harmony however, was easy to set up & is easy to use. Only having to push 1 button to have the tv, cable & home theatre all come on to the right settings for the event required ( e.g watch cable, play dvd or listen to music, it memorises the different settings for each ), is the best, it also works with Foxtel iQ 2. I recommend this remote very highly. A top quality product.

This is our 3rd Logitech universal remote and by far the best, the previous models were great but suffered from the "you get what you pay for" lack of durability and quality (they still were the lead product for universal remotes :) )
The quality of the Harmony 650 is now comparable to the likes of the Harmony One (my friend has one) where it differs is now more about features (as it should be) than quality.
I can recommend this remote to anyone that wants a universal remote that is easy to use and 'functional'.

What a waste of money. This purchase was my first and last logitec purchase. Never worked properly but , looked really good... in the bin. I ended up buying a genuine replacement remote from sony at a third of the price. SHAME on you logitec

Logitech Harmony® 650 Remote

The remote is very good overall. Works with all the devices we have including a Bose GSXII. I would say that it is not straight forward to set up and it took a few passes to get it correctly set. We have also noticed that it occassionally becomes unresponsive. Overall though, there is not other line that competes with the Harmony's. I know several people that have them and all think they are very good.

I have bought the remote which cost me 60 dollars and still after 3 months the remote still does not work and have been in contact with a support person from logitics team and he still did not help us with the problem... definantly was the worst purchase ever! Thankyou,Courtney

Making life a little bit easier.

I bought this remote for my parents after they purchased a new Panasonic 50" Plasma. Having another remote with several new features was a bit too much for them so the 650 came to mind.
It certainly has made life easier for them as it starts the entire system with the touch of a button.
Two minor cmplaints being the size and/or closeness of the buttons. Dad has big hands and fingers and occasionaly hits two together and it is reasonably heavy on the batteries (say every 3 months).
Overall, they are very happy with it.

This remote is ok but there are a few problems first is that it eats up most types of batteries very fast like in a few days except for rechargeable ones then they last for awhile but still not as long as other remotes. And the biggest problem with the remote is that if you set it down alittle hard or drop it you loose the settings and have to go threw the reboot sequence again. I think i have to do this about 25 times a week a real pain. And I cant find a function that shows the programs that will be coming later in the day for the channels like my old remote had

I had to use 4 remotes two of which were becoming unreliable. AFter some research opted for the Harmony 650 and set it up. I am very happy with its performance and don't have too much trouble showing occasional users how to manage it. Recovery after someone uses it incorrectly is simple. A very good unit.

A Universal Remote that actually works....

Some time back I bought a then expensive Sony well regarded remote - but despite my best attempts I never achieved the success I have with the web driven set up of the Harmony 650 - I'm sure there are better remotes available - but this does all I need for now - but when the time comes to upgrade I think I'll be buying Logitech

Purchased many universal remotes in the past but none of them were compatible with all my electricals but the harmony was compatible I only need one remote for everything which is great. No more fiddling with the remotes just one button on my harmony will give me access to my tv DVD satellite box etc.... I advise everyone to go and buy the harmony you will not regret it as I have never looked back! Thankyou logitech for this great product!

got this remote from Logitechshop for a good price, but can not learn everything my Panasonic PVR remote, notably the 4 colour button is not programmable to perform the same function. But otherwise, it fit the purpose of turning the TV and PVR on and off.
