I have recently bought G510 keyboard along with a Logitech gaming mouse. Other than these I have 3 more Logitech products which I have already been using happily.
I was looking for a gaming keyboard because I was not able to "play" properly simply because of the lack of multi-key input capability of normal keyboards. Their buffers get full, they suddenyl stop responding and then dump all combinations to free up the buffer space which hurts most especially when you play FPS games and every second is critical. Another reason of purchase was the backlight, so I can see keys (when required) in the dark.
Pros: ===== 1) Amazing keyboard with amazing features and solid build quality.
2) Overall it is a well thought out keyboard.
3) Backlighting is not very bright but "enough" for you to recognise the key you are going to press which is good even in the dark (I am sure no one reads a book using very bright keyboard backlights and they are there only to help you recognise the key in the dark, so it is a positive point of this keyboard IMHO).
4) To be able to programme and add LCD applets, add gaming profiles, and programme macro keys (G Keys) are all really very nice features. It also comes with an API and an SDK (installs with the software)
5) Very satsfying key-press feel (feet open, and without palm rest).
6) Game key: It locks your windows key and right click key presses, so you wont be accidentally pressing those two keys. (But, if you press Shift key five times (enables Sticky-Keys mode activation confirmation dialog) and a popup appears, you can't help that switching your game window as this keyboard game key is not designed to tackle that.)
7) Integrated Audio: This keyboard as a separate USB sound card which activates only when you plug your headphone and/or mic jack in. (The sound card is really very nice in terms of the sound it produces)
Cons: ===== 1) Keyboard's physical keys spacing layout: not friendly for my hand (I have big hands (a little bit bigger than medium only), spacing layout may suit people with small or medium hands). You need to squeeze your fingers a bit more in order to type correctly (resulted in many typo mistakes); more than 30 minutes of use, and your hand starts hurting. It is hard to get used to this key spacing just because it is uncomfortable. Keyboard should be comfortable enough for Gaming + general use, as we normally do not use two keyboards for two different tasks.
2) Right Shift + 2 arrow keys combination = Not possible: With Shift key press (I use that as Walk mode key) You can either move up or left but not diagonally. This hurts most as I play most of the games using arrow keys (not numpad ones) and very few games using WASD keys. (I simply like to occasionally rest my fingers using free space around arrow keys). And afterall, keyboard is advertised as it allows "any five" simultanous key presses, but never says that you cannot use 2 arrow keys + Shift key (which is just 3 keys combination among those 5 keys combinations).
3) There is more gap between Arrow keys and other normal keys (border keys like "Enter", "|", etc. on the left hand side of arrow keys) which makes it harder to reach Enter key and above while pressing an arrow key (left, down, and/or right arrow key).
4) As soon as you attach palm rest with this keyboard, keys' height becomes uncomfortable (I personally prefer using keyboard palm rest, so for me it is a let down). This happens because palm rest stays a little bit higher (few "mm" as it covers the keyboard border including logo) than it should be. If this palm rest could have stayed as high as the height of keyboard's border, there shouldn't be any problem then. The reason is that keyboard's feet are not high and you dont get much tilt to reach to the top keys comfortably. In normal position, (without feet opened) this keyboard is a bit difficult to type for a user who likes to rest his palm on the table or palm rest. For those, who keep their hands off the table or palm-rest, this shouldn't be a problem.
5) Integrated audio is a useless feature for me as I already do have a sound card in my laptop. Having an additional sound card just doesn't make sense to me especially when you cannot use it along with your PC/laptop sound card. You need to go into Windows sound properties and make this sound card as default in order to hear sounds through this keyboard's sound card which kills its purpose in the first place. People may use Ventrilo app to somehow make some use of it but still I don't see any value it just adds price and nothing else. (IMHO pass through headphone and mic ports was a much better option instead)
6) This keyboard does not have a USB port. That would had been very helpful if I could plug my mouse or Flash drive in that USB. (Even we do not use mouse very far from the keyboard, but still it will be handy and quick way to plug a mouse which is capable of re-charging mouse batteries if they are gone down during the gameplay)
Conclusion: =========== I am going to return this keyboard and get a refund. Even though it is an excellent product, this keyboard is just not for me, unfortunately. This conclusion does not reflect that it won't be fit for your purpose, as I have just mentioned above the reasons why it is not fit for me.
I hope this review will help you in your decision.

This keyboard is good for gaming , don`t waste your money on overrated keyboard brands such as Razer , to me its not worth the money , i do not say that this keyboard is cheap , but you pay for what you get , but i do highly recommend to use a normal keyboard for gaming and work , if you like plenty of backlid light to brighten your keyboard , this keyboard should be considered . Even though its a little bit pricy , but considering nowadays so called gaming keyboard brands such as Razer , Steelseries and so , i find that this keyboard has more features to it , and thats the only thing i choose this keyboard .

Not a true gaming keyboard.
Date:20 May 2012
I use this keyboard primarily for playing Battlefield 3. While the LCD screen can be handy for viewing the time or CPU and RAM performance this is not the ultimate gaming keyboard. It does not have full anti-ghosting. This keyboard cannot match your reflexes while pressing multiple keys.
e.g. I cannot press and hold SHIFT and W and 2 at the same time.
I use this combination to drive tanks at increased speed while switching to a secondary weapon to eliminate other threats quickly.

Hey Battlefield_3_Gamer, thanks for your review. We got one of our team members to test this and Shift + W + 2 (above the Q/W keys) work fine. We are assuming you're having a problem with the Numpad 2, which with the default key bindings in BF3, doesn't work.
In Battlefield 3, they count QWERTY numbers (the ones above the keyboard) as separate from the Numpad numbers (which, when you assign in BF3, show up a Num1, Num2, etc). If you have the regular numbers assigned to change the weapons, BF3 will ignore the numpad equivalents because they are different keys. Also, BF3 has different button configurations for on foot, vehicles, and air vehicles. If I go into BF3 and assign the Numpad buttons for weapon selection in the Vehicles section, we can press Shift+W+Numpad 2 to change the weapons no problem (But then pressing 2 above the Q/W keys will do nothing while driving a vehicle with that binding). This is how Battlefield 3 handles keypresses.
If you want to test keypresses on your keyboard, you can try this web tool: http://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/content/projects/KeyboardGhostingDemo.aspx (note, in Windows, pressing Shift + Numpad 2 will result in a down arrow key press).
Plus, we do have a firmware update for some early G510 units. You can download and run the .EXE file listed here, and if your unit has an older firmware, it will let you update to the latest version: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/G-Series-Gaming-Keyboards/G510-Firmware-update/td-p/570732.

I didn't expect that... in a good way!
Date:17 April 2012
As a Logitech Product Tester LPT13153, I am providing a review on the Logitech G510 Gaming Keyboard.
I love the feel of the keyboard - It's solid, yet somewhat flexible (especially if you push a LITTLE too hard on the LCD buttons). The only disappointing thing about this keyboard was the LCD screen - It seems a bit out of alignment... Maybe an issue with Quality Control?
Either way, the keys are exceptionally quiet, and having 18 programmable keys at your disposal is fun, to say the least.
The 3.5mm headset port restarts the keyboard once plugged in, for some reason.
The LCD panel allows me to keep an eye on system resources, as well as the time, and Battlefield 3 stats (should they ever release an applet for it).

Flawless. The Key's response time is excellent, the layout and spacing of the keys are comfy, the Custom-color character back-lighting is the first time I've wasted hours on a keyboard and the Headphones/Mic port ease of Access for my Headphones is also a plus.
Must buy if your a hardcore gamer.

Best macro keyboard.
Date:13 November 2011
This keyboard is amazing, the macros are incredibly fast, close to a copy/paste, the programs you can get on the LED are brilliant and very useful, not to mention the media keys work natively with iTunes. The latest G-Series software is very versatile and incredibly easy to use. My only qualm is that even with the keyboard feet out, it sits a little too low for me.

Very nice Keyboard!
Date:8 November 2010
It's a good keyboard, works well. The G Keys work great once the game is installed. I made a profile before the game was installed on my system, what can I say it took a week to download and I was bored. T G keys once programed do everything I want them to with ease. I really like the back lighting and wheel for volume control. I would have made the board just a little bigger, to get a bigger key board. All in all I'm very happy with it!

Great keyboard with only a few issues
Date:10 September 2010
This is an EXCELLENT keyboard. I've refused to buy Logitech gaming keyboards after the G15 version 1 (which is what I was upgrading from) with the removal of several G-keys. Since this is the first keyboard they were brought back on, I had to have it.
One problem I've noticed is that the media keys were moved to the right of the keyboard. Bad move in my opinion for one reason: if you're right handed, listening to music, and doing another task such as browsing the Internet or playing a game, you have to move your hand off of the mouse in order to use the media keys. With my G15 V1, my left hand could easy access them since they were a good size and in the middle of the keyboard.
My only other complaint is the lack of Linux support for the LCD and Keys. It's not very easy to change the color of the keys in Ubuntu, which is my main operating system. Other than that though, I love this keyboard. The keys feel very nice to type on and having headphone and mic inputs right on the keyboard is a great addition for gamers.
